Fairy ring, I am afraid to draw near.
It is not leaving, but getting back that I fear.
For I know, once I step foot inside your sphere,
I cannot come back, never again come back here.
But oh the temptation! It is much too sweet.
What kind of world will I enter, what shall I meet?
I cannot eat the food, but have heard it’s quite a treat.
Oh to be taken away! But I cannot move my feet.
Fairy ring, do you think that just perhaps,
If I set foot inside your circle, a small time will but lapse?
Oh the temptation! Reason no longer has a grasp.
I step inside the circle, never again this way shall I pass.
