The earth was cold and still, as if no life existed.
And all the strife in my life persisted.
The moon was full and grey.
Then clouds came in to wash it away.
The rain fell down drop by drop.
In that moment my thoughts stopped.
All that is and all that once was got swept away.
The lightening flashed and the thunder struck.
The turning of the world I could feel.
In that moment I felt stuck.
I kept thinking, “This can’t be real.”
I became cold inside and out.
My heart, Hard as Stone
The loud clashing of the thunder made me think
“Maybe I’ll never find Home.”
As I closed my eyes I drifted in dream.
To a place where no time exists.
At this one moment everything started to make sense.
The rain had stopped and I opened my eyes.
To reveal a sight that was so clear.
I sat up to contemplate my thoughts.
And the path in front of me I did not fear.
The light crept in over the horizon.
A riot of color in a dreary, grey world.
And the wind blew the trees yet it was so quiet.
Like nothing on earth had been disturbed.
As I walk down the narrow path that is laid out in front of me.
A smile shown that never shown before, I felt calm, I felt free.
The warmth of the sun filled my soul.
I felt like I was heading Home.
