There is a boy upon that ship
It is him who I seek.
Oh what I would give
If to me he would speak!

Everyday she watches me
She thinks I do not know.
But, lord, what she does to me!
My heart is a glow!

He is so handsome, so charming.
If only he belonged to me.
Instead I must stay here,
In this wretched sea.

The sun is setting now,
Perhaps I’ll ask her to be mine.
But I fear she will say no,
I’ll watch her leave one more time.
